State's Cattle on Feed Down 5 Percent

Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.16 million cattle on feed on ctoer 1, according to the USDAs National Agricultural Statistics Serice. This inventory was down 5 percent from last year.
Placements during September totaled 470,000 head, down 8 percent from 2015.
Fed cattle marketings for the month of September totaled 405,000 head, down 6 percent from last year.
Other disappearance during September totaled 5,000 head, down 5,000 head from last year.
