CleanChoice Energy Surpasses $1.5 Million in Donations
Nebraska Ag Connection - 08/15/2017

CleanChoice Energy, a renewable energy company providing 100 percent clean electricity to retail power customers across the country, today announced it has contributed over $1.5 million to environmental, clean energy and social change organizations. The company has made social responsibility a core value and has pledged to continue to support and partner with environmental and social impact organizations. This newest giving milestone is due in large part to CleanChoice Energy's growth. The company now provides millions of clean megawatts to tens of thousands of customers across its footprint.

"CleanChoice Energy's mission since day one has been to make clean energy accessible to everybody. We're doubling that impact by supporting organizations committed to the environment and expanded access to renewable energy," said Tom Matzzie, founder and CEO of CleanChoice Energy. "We believe in being a responsible corporate citizen; our giving helps create a healthier world with less pollution and cleaner electricity."

CleanChoice Energy's giving has powered it to the highest level of B Corp certification, with a company score 50 percent higher than the required score for B Corp certified companies. The company is also helping expand clean energy access as a founding Leadership member of the Coalition for Community Solar Access. CleanChoice has given to and partnered with more than 50 non-profit and social change organizations since its founding.

CleanChoice makes it easy for customers to create environmental impacts. As one of the first licensed retail energy providers offering only 100 percent renewable energy products to American homes and businesses, CleanChoice Energy has made it as easy as possible for people to choose clean energy as-a-service instead of as a home construction project. On average, each household that switches to CleanChoice Energy avoids 18,876 pounds of carbon pollution per year. The company's customers have kept more than 1.71 billion pounds of carbon dioxide out of the air, equivalent to preventing 827 million pounds of coal from being burned, and has had an environmental impact equivalent to preserving 734,000 acres of forest.
