Applications Open for Academic Youth Camp

Applications are now being accepted for the Central Honors Institute, an academic camp for Nebraska youth that will be held July 9-13 at Central Community College-Columbus.

The five-day residential camp is open to students beginning the seventh or eighth grade in the fall of 2017 and have demonstrated accomplishments in academics, leadership and maturity. Camp participants attend class during the day, enjoy social activities in the evening and stay overnight in the college's residence hall.

Students are placed on one of five tracks based on their interest and aptitude. The tracks include CHI Creativity (language arts), CHI Stream Team (biology), CHI TechExplorers (computers), CSI at CHI (math) and FLY CHI (physics).

Applications and recommendation forms must be received by May 1. The cost is $395 through June 15 and $425 after that date.
