R-CALF: NCBA Makes Outrageous Arguments Against GIPSA

In a congressional hearing held Tuesday the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) testified that the GIPSA rules will cause packers to offer one price for all cattle, regardless of quality. Do not let the meatpacker lobby trick you into helping the multinational packers capture your live cattle supply chain just as they have already captured the supply chains away from poultry and hog producers, said R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard in an email to U.S. cattle producers. "Had the GIPSA rules been in place, the packers would not have been able to break your cattle market in 2015 as they did with absolute impunity!"
